Emily Reason lives in western North Carolina where she is a part of a diverse crafts community, set amongst the Appalachian Mountains. Emily holds an Artist’s Residency at the EnergyXchange, a unique landfill initiative project that harnesses landfill-methane gas to fuel the pottery kiln in which she fires her pots.
Emily’s formal training in ceramics includes a Bachelor of Fine Art degree from West Virginia University and continued education from Chautauqua Institution’s School of Art, Penland School of Crafts, and Odyssey Center for Ceramic Arts.
In addition to selling pottery, Emily teaches ceramics at various art centers. She values her experiences in teaching, travel and hiking as vital balances and influences for her lifestyle as a potter. |
